Everyone is standing
\nover the road
\nat a monument
\nto an incident
\nwe remember<\/p>\n
(Others remember too
\nwhen reminded
\nperchance election-time
\nwill occasion a sound-byte)<\/p>\n
Over the road
\neveryone else
\non their way
\nto whatever<\/p>\n
Over the road
\nRobbie and Coline
\nstanding tall
\nas did so many<\/p>\n
(so many unknown
\nand even unheralded
\nas the past is reassembled
\nfor the sake of the present)<\/p>\n
Over the road
\nfor all to see
\nand bear witness<\/p>\n
(though under the radar
\nmore often than not
\nas we turn the other cheek)<\/p>\n
Everyone standing
\nreminding the world
\nhow they got here
\nand why in the first place<\/p>\n
Grey-heads, mostly, congregate, as they have done before, at the memorial tribute to slain Umkhonto we Sizwe freedom fighters Coline Williams and Robert Waterwitch, over the road from the Athlone Magistrate\u2019s Court, 24 years on, 27 July 2013.<\/p>\n
