{"id":24584,"date":"2021-01-07T09:47:59","date_gmt":"2021-01-07T16:47:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.womeninandbeyond.org\/?p=24584"},"modified":"2023-01-06T20:17:29","modified_gmt":"2023-01-07T03:17:29","slug":"do-not-be-mistaken","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.womeninandbeyond.org\/?p=24584","title":{"rendered":"Do NOT be mistaken"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do NOT be mistaken.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the shadow of yesterday&#8217;s violence and siege of the United States Capitol, many of us are NOT calling for additional police.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We were not yesterday, and are NOT today, wishing or hoping there had been more police.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are NOT wishing or hoping police had treated the trump mob with the type of violence they unleash on people who protest racial injustice and social inequity.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What many of us want is for law enforcement to NOT be violent with us just like THEY CHOSE not to be violent with yesterday&#8217;s majority white, male rioters.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And I want to know that law enforcement &#8211; including Capitol police &#8211; are NOT comprised of the kind of people shown in the photograph below.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes.
