No more room in the inn?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Conservative Christians know just what Jesus would do,<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

They just ain\u2019t doin\u2019 it.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I mean: they just ain\u2019t doin\u2019
What was done for Jesus.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Dorothy Day, and Father Daniel Berrigan we miss you.\u00a0
We miss you and so many others.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

If I had a hammer.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

These angry old men wearing red hats,<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

and taking blue pills,<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

\u00a0are melting down ploughshares and turning them into guns again.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

And they say America is full \u2014 there is no more room.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Well \u2014 I\u2019ve been to the Dakotas and that\u2019s just bullshit!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Maybe we\u2019ll find room when we can\u2019t get our avocado toast, triple latte, and strawberries.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Ahh, but the strawberries! That’s – that’s when we\u2019ll care.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Persnickety keto and vegan diets will make us care.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Rising price of coffee will make us care.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Lack of avocado will make us care.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Or, we can ask the American in Tampico wearing a white suit:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Say, mister. Will you stake a fellow American to a meal?
Can you help an American down on his luck?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

And he says:
Not a South American
Not a Central American
Not an American from Puerto Rico\u2014but I\u2019ll throw them some paper towels
And definitely not an American from Guam \u2014 but, they are great for medical experimentation.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

American wannabes.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

America is full.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

When I say \u201cmare nostrum\u201d I mean it\u2019s mare nostrum to over fish or to pollute.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

We don\u2019t want to actually feed anybody.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

He says all this while pretending to read the poem on the Statue of Liberty,<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

When actually he\u2019s just peeking up her robes looking for something to grab.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

But it\u2019s too high up; and, he\u2019s so lowdown.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Oh, play it again Uncle Sam!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

You know what I want to hear,
You played it for her, you can play it for me!
If she can stand it, I can!
Play it!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Sing the third verse, too:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

\u201cNo refuge could save the hireling and slave
from the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave.
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
o\u2019er the land of the free and the home of the brave.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

And, offer these Three gifts\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

to newborn princesses and princes of peace,<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

And their queen mothers asking for mercy,<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Razor wire, tear gas, and burns.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Armored troops on the boarder attacking children,<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Now where did I hear this before?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Stories of insecure kings trying to separate children from their mothers and kill saviors in their cribs.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

So many people floating down rivers in reed boats trying to escape,<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Where is the merciful Queen who will take them all in and offer them nobility, healthful environment, and education?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

And would it be too much to ask for funding for Women Studies Programs, Planned Parenthood, and affordable health care as long as were dreaming here in this nightmare together?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Rise, Dreamers, rise.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

And, like Moses, free yourselves and your people. Help them to find their place in this land of promise.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

\u00a0Resist all of the Charlton Hestons with guns and MAGA hats.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Some superheroes don\u2019t wear masks, capes, armor, or costumes.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Some heroes wear hijabs, or used to work in bars for a minimum wage and tips \u2014 the true Marvels in D.C.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Brown skinned Saviors, teach us all how to dream again. Help us to hear our own beating hearts\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

and the grasshopper at our feet.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

This nation of actors:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Acting White House Thief of Staff: Mick Mulvaney,<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Acting Ambassador to the Divided Nations: Jonathan Cohen,<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Acting Inferior Secretary: David Bernhardt,<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Acting Offense Secretary: Patrick Shanahan,<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Acting Homeland Insecurity Secretary: Kevin McAleenan,<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

And, they all have badges,<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

they all have stinking badges,<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

They can actually show you their stinking badges!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

They just don\u2019t have job security.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

But, some of them have very dubiously obtained security clearances.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

To ousted Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen we ask:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

\u00a0is it true blondes have more fun?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Asked and answered!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

All while Dolt 45, the director of this political theater\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

is acting like Captain Queeg from The Caine Mutiny<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

But what America needs is Rick from Casablanca.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

What America actually has is Agent Orange walking arm in arm down a runway at Reagan National Airport with Stephen Miller,\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The beginning of a very decisive friendship.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
